Camp Davis

While on holiday, Mary and I traveled to Dustin, Oklahoma to visit the Carl family and to see Camp Davis. To my parents, Camp Davis is a little slice of heaven where they can escape the noises and stresses of day-to-day life. Pictured here is Camp Davis HQ where one may rest his weary head after a hard day of doing nothing or kick-back and enjoy the silence.

Merry Christmas!

Mary and I traveled to Oklahoma over the Christmas holiday to visit the Davis family. We had a wonderful trip as we visited some folks we rarely see and spent some quality time with our nephew Rhiley. Throughout our visit, Rhiley tested the balancing ability of his young brain and strength of his little legs on his way to becoming a full-fledged biped. We were lucky enough to witness a few successful steps and his persistence provided hours of entertainment and countless photo opportunities.

Sleeping with the Enemy

Our cats are sisters and litter mates, yet they detest the mere sight of each other. Their intense hatred routinely erupts into full-blown phycial conflict most often at 2 AM in the middle of our bed. However, Mary and I believe this is all a desparate attempt to garner our attention and disrupt my sleep. To support our theory, I offer exhibit A. Here, Sophie and Chloe were photographed "sleeping with the enemy."

I had reservations with posting this photograph as it will damage the "tough-cat" reputations of our furry roommates. But I couldn't resist due to the cuteness factor of the situation.

SNOW!

We received our first snow of the season on Wednesday and Thursday. The weather event began with with a nice 1/4-inch sheet of ice and ended with a beautiful layer of snow - 8 inches, to be exact. The snow came in two waves; 4 inches on Wednesday afternoon and 4 inches early Thursday morning. Luckily, the ground temperatures were high enough that the ice and snow caused few problems with our daily commute.
